Benefits of Buying Study Guides
I always recommend that students buy the study guide for their subject. Here's why:
1. Specification – the full subject specification is detailed in the contents page. This allows you to see at a glance what you need to know over the course, so you can keep track of what you know and what you don't.
2. Better notes - the notes in a study guide have been through a detailed editing process so they're excellent quality and exam board specific. They're also much better than those students make themselves.
3. Condensed versus textbooks - I teach students the quickest way to study for their exam and that means you only want to study what you need to know without the padding of extra info that's not needed.
4. Practice questions - asking yourself questions is the best way to learn anything and study guides have questions built-in at the end of every topic.
